Hello Huskies, hopefully everyone had a wonderful and rejuvenating summer vacation! As for myself, I had a pretty eventful summer. I started the journey of quitting a job that I adored, went through the exhausting task of finding a new job, turned twenty-one, reconnected with nature, and found my goals for after college. With my goal of becoming an investigative journalist, you guys might have to endure me writing some different pieces in the community section. Last year, my goal was to get the USM students more connected with things outside of the USM campus. By reaching out to places and organizations like Maine Needs, Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights, and Through These Doors. This year, I am aiming to get to more investigative pieces. I’m always looking for new things to write about. And I hope to bring my experience with my criminology major into more of my articles, which you may be seeing fairly soon. Have a wonderful first semester! Don’t forget to breathe, eat, drink water, SLEEP, and make some friends. Make the most out of your college experience.
