We hope you are having a smooth transition to campus for the first time or back to campus. As you get ready to start on your Fall courses, reach out to the DSC if you need accommodations! The DSC handles all student disability requests on campus; whether it is an academic, housing, or other campus-related request. We meet with each student who submits a request to our office to determine appropriate accommodations and refer students to any on-campus resources that might be helpful. We are available to meet in person or on Zoom.
If you have a disability or have had accommodations at a previous college, high school, or workplace, we encourage you to connect with our office. Accommodations from high school do not automatically transfer to college; you need to request accommodations first.
Looking to get accommodations? Here’s how to start! Scan the QR code to fill out the Accommodate Request Form and upload documentation. After this, we will verify if we need anything else from you, and will be in contact via your Maine.Edu email to set up a meeting with one of our DSC Counselors. Don’t have documentation? Send our provider form to your primary care doctor, mental health specialist, or another licensed provider you work with!
Requests are confidential, and the specifics of a student’s disability condition are not disclosed to faculty other than the student’s eligibility for approved accommodations.
Students who already have accommodations through the DSC, this is a reminder to submit your Semester Request Form in Accommodate (lowercase “a” icon on the myUSM portal) to let your professors know that you have accommodations. If you have any questions, please connect with us at [email protected], 207-780-4706, 242 Luther Bonney Hall, or on our website.
