WMPG hosted its annual Mardi Gras celebration. Local restaurants and caterers participated in the Cajun Cookin’ Challenge. Ruski’s in Portland won first place with their jambalaya and the Ideal Maine Social Aid and Sanctuary Band played for the event.

Mardi Gras is a multifaceted holiday with a lot of history. The week before Lent brings together food, music, and community. With traditions like krewe organized balls, parades, Mardi Gras Masking Indians, and King Cake, people across the world embrace the season and celebrate their culture.
Jesse Jackson, the influential civil rights leader, Baptist minister, and two-time presidential candidate who helped reshape American politics in the 1980s, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the age of 84.
Confidential Resource Advisor Sam Figard hosted a Kahoot trivia event where students were quizzed on healthy relationship behaviors. Top-scoring participants and raffle winners took home big prizes.
Bad Bunny took the stage on Feb. 8 for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. Over 128.2 million US viewers watched the performance on television. The performance drew both criticism and support, and was heavily focused on Puerto Rican culture and spreading love.
