Over the summer, a pop culture icon from the early 2000s made a resurgence: Dexter, America’s Favorite Serial Killer. After an 8-season run on Showtime from 2006 to 2013, Dexter captivated thousands of viewers week after week with its procedural storytelling, strong characters, and a titular antihero that fans could relate to (minus the butchering). Within recent years, there have been a few spin-offs of Dexter, including Dexter: New Blood & Dexter: New Blood, with the latter being a prequel series and the former a sequel series. While Original Sin was unfortunately cancelled after a highly successful first season, the newest entry in the Dexter lexicon has risen in the form of Dexter: Resurrection.
After a critically acclaimed run, Resurrection is slated to bring Dexter back to the small screen regularly once again. While the previous two series were a one-shot and an attempt at a prequel series, this new series will truly bring Dexter back for good, at least for now. With season two being greenlit before the first season finished airing, it’s safe to say that we are in for something interesting with the next season and those to come after. As a newcomer to Dexter lore, this is all very exciting for me, so I can’t even imagine how longtime fans are feeling. There was a lot to be desired in New Blood and a missed opportunity in Original Sin, but where they failed, Resurrection won’t. If the show can maintain the suspense and excitement of the first season, this character may very well be pleasing our sick minds until Michael C. Hall can’t do it anymore. This revival was not one I expected, but I cannot wait to see where it goes.
What did you think of Dexter: Resurrection? Excited for more? Or ready to see the hand of justice sweep Dex off his feet once and for all?

Love Dexter:Resurrection. This show has promise of the original with the character of his son’s proclivity. Proving once again the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This is hoping we have many more Dexter to see
