Get Ready to Register: Plan Your Fall 2026 Semester
Christen Eaton, Office of Advising
Registration Week is almost here, which means now is the perfect time to start planning for what’s next. Taking a little time in March and early April to prepare can make all the difference when your registration date arrives. Instead of scrambling, you’ll be ready to confidently hit “enroll.”
Advisors are already meeting with students to map out summer and fall schedules. Who you meet with depends on where you are in your academic journey. If you’re in the earlier stages of your degree, your University Advisor will help you explore options, stay on track, and build a balanced schedule. If you’re further along, you’ll work with your Faculty Advisor, who can guide you through major requirements and next steps in your field. You can find your advisor in MaineStreet or Navigate.
The most successful advising appointments start with preparation. Before your meeting, take time to browse the Fall 2026 course schedule and build your WishList in MaineStreet. This gives you a strong starting point and allows you and your advisor to focus on refining your plan rather than starting from scratch.
You also have helpful tools at your fingertips. Your Degree Progress Report (DPR) shows what you’ve completed and what’s left, helping you make informed choices about your courses. You can also review past advising notes in Navigate for reminders and recommendations that support your goals.
Mark your calendar: Registration Week is April 6–10! Your specific registration date is available in MaineStreet and is based on completed credits, so be sure to check it ahead of time and set a reminder.
Planning your schedule isn’t just about picking classes; it’s about shaping your experience. Whether you’re balancing requirements, thinking ahead to internships or study abroad, or managing a busy schedule, planning now gives you more control and less stress later.
Schedule your registration planning appointment today and get excited, you’ve got this!
