Now that we’re in 2026, we can finally say that a new Avengers movie releases THIS YEAR! And while the film is still almost a year away, Marvel Studios has launched their marketing campaign early. We had a soft launch last spring with what many called “Chair-Watch” serving as a cast reveal for the film, confirming the X-Men’s return. Now, over the past four weeks, Marvel Studios has released 4 separate teaser trailers for the film.
Starting on December 18th, 2025, a first teaser was released exclusively in theaters alongside the release of Avatar Fire and Ash. And for the next few weeks we continued this pattern of a new trailer only in theaters with Avatar for the weekend, before being released online the following Tuesday. However, each teaser also consistently leaked online the weekend before it was released in theaters, and many believe that this was intentionally done by Marvel Studios themselves. If that’s the case, it certainly did drive up hype and excitement for the film.
The first teaser reveals that Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers in the film and with a child, something that was previously unconfirmed. What kind of role he’ll play remains to be seen, but fans mainly hope his return does not diminish his perfect ending in Avengers Endgame. The second teaser focuses on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, now also a father and seems to be restored to the version of the character we saw in recent Avengers films. The third teaser was the biggest and most exciting, featuring the X-Men. Patrick Stewart returns as Professor Charles Xavier alongside Ian McKellen as Magneto, and James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops. Cyclops in the comics is the leader of the X-Men, but was not portrayed well in the original Fox movies. Fans are excited to see the character finally done justice and even donning his comic accurate, Jim Lee style blue and yellow suit. The fourth teaser features the return of the Black Panther and the Wakandans, now meeting the recently introduced Fantastic Four.
After the online launch of this fourth teaser, Marvel also launched a livestreamed “Doomsday Clock” on Youtube, seemingly pointing towards this being the final trailer….for now. Rumors suggest that an official, longer teaser trailer, featuring Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will debut in the coming months.
