In Portland, a theft of a motor vehicle boot was reported. It is currently under investigation.
A motor vehicle hit and run was reported in Portland. It is currently under investigation.
At 11:28 p.m. in Gorham, at Anderson Hall, an alcohol violation was reported.
Friday, March 8
Two male juveniles who were guests of a resident at Portland Hall were issued criminal trespass orders after the destruction of wall posters in the residence hall. The trespass orders prevent the two juveniles from returning to any residence hall on the USM campuses.
Justin Stilson, 18, of Exeter, N.H., was charged with violation of a criminal trespass order. He is to appear in court on March 21.
Nathan Stevens, 19, of 455 Hastings Hall, was arrested for assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and for refusing to submit to arrest.
Criminal mischief was reported when a hole was discovered in the second floor wall of Portland Hall’s Yankee Clipper wing.
Christopher Bubar,19, was arrested near Robie Hall for criminal mischief after he jumped on the hood of a Gorham police car while officers were speaking to him.
A motor vehicle hit and run was reported in the Woodward lot.
Several people were found fighting in front of Phillipi Hall. Police broke up the fight upon arrival.
As a result, Christian W. Maki, 19, of Hastings Hall, was charged with obstructing government administration when he allegedly interfered with the officer who was trying to break up the fight.
A suspicious e-mail was received asking the receiver to set up an account so someone overseas could transfer money into an account.
USM police said it may be a possible scam.
The case was referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which traces any overseas e-mails.
Thursday, Dec. 6GORHAM – Criminal mischief was reported after someone took a park bench from the Athletic Department and hid it in the bushes near Anderson Hall. The police don’t have any suspects.
Friday, Dec. 7
GORHAM – Police responded to a possible arson after a small fire in a School Street parking lot almost spread to a parked car.
A sink was pulled out of the wall in the Men’s bathroom on the fourth floor of Upton-Hastings Hall.
Cassandra Laferte was issued a summons to district court for operating a vehicle on Campus Avenue after her license had been suspended.
18 year old Timothy McLaughlin of Woodward Hall was summonsed to court for possession of marijuana.
Hate-oriented messages against a student were reported. The USM police department, which does not tolerate racist crimes, is currently investigating the situation.
