The Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC) is seeking self-nominations for IDAC Student Fellows to serve in this 2019-2020 academic year.

IDAC Student Fellows are undergraduate and graduate students committed to equity, justice and to making USM an inclusive community. According to Nadine Pembele, Fellows serve as an integral part of the Council, leading their peers in campus forums and initiatives. There are opportunities for Fellows to speak directly to University leadership on behalf of students and the community.

Fellowships include a stipend of $1,000 per academic year disbursed in $500 installments in the fall and spring semesters. Responsibilities include:

  • Attending all IDAC semester meetings
  • Outreach and recruitment
  • Staffing events
  • Designing programming
  • Collaborating with fellow students

Students interested should read IDAC’s Mission & Values and complete the following self-nomination form by Monday, September 17, 2019. Nominations will be reviewed by an IDAC faculty and staff committee.
