Police made two arrests on Saturday, Jan. 30 on the Gorham campus.
Gorham campus resident Michael Noble, 18, of Poland, Maine was arrested for assault and resisting arrest at around 2:20 a.m.
According to Lt. Kevin Conger of the USM Police, an officer was called to Hastings Hall to check on Noble, who was intoxicated. Police summoned him for possession of alcohol, at which point he became uncooperative, according to Conger, and assaulted the police officer.
Noble was charged and transported to Cumberland County Jail. According to court documents, he posted $100 bail the next morning and was released.
Noble pleaded not guilty at his first court appearance on Monday, Feb. 1. He is set to be arraigned on March 9.
David Sledzieski, 19, of Wells, Maine was arrested the same night for violating bail conditions. According to the police report, Joe Murphy, RA of Upperclassmen Hall called police to deal with Sledzieski, who was intoxicated in the lobby, trying to get into the residence hall.
Sledzieski, a Husson student, was very intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content of .22, according to a police report from Officer Russ Swann of the USM Police.
“He told them he was on bail conditions,” said Conger.
Sledzieski was on bail for leaving the scene of an accident in Wells, according to court documents. Part of his bail conditions stipulated he not possess or consume alcohol.
He was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he spent the weekend, according to the jail.
He pleaded guilty at his arraignment on Monday, Feb. 1 and was ordered to spend one day in jail.
