Somebody vandalized a vending machine on the first floor of Upton-Hastings Hall. Aramark reported the theft of some of some of their product. This case is under investigation (UI).
Apr. 14
A student reported the theft of a Palm Pilot, and identified suspects. UI
There were reports of Gang graffiti in the Glickman Library. Facilities Management was notified and the USM police are watching the area.
USM police charged Morgan LaBonte, 19, resident of Upton-Hastings Hall, with criminal mischief for doing damage to the University picnic tables. He has been summonsed to the Portland District Court.
Apr. 15
Somebody damaged the mechanical lock of the rear door of Andrson Woodard Hall. The case has been referred to Community Standards.
Brandon Ross, 20, resident of Dickey-Wood Hall was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He will appear at the Portland District Court in May.
An intoxicated homeless person tried to get into resident halls. He was taken to a the Portland Area Shelter.
USM Police received reports about somebody from the Orono Campus hacking into students’ computers.

USM Police received second reports about somebody from the Orono Campus hacking into students’ computers. The alleged hacker has been identified. UI
Somebody stole a pair of Nike running shoes from outside a door in Upton-Hastings Hall. UI
A student called 911 direct to the Portland Police to report people in the building next door to the Yankee Clipper parking lot were throwing canned goods out the building and hitting cars. The Portland Police are investigating.
