Dominican Outreach funding delayed again
The Student Senate voted not to pass an amendment to a new policy which bars the Senate from funding groups in which students receive academic credit.
The proposed amendment would have permitted the Dominican Outreach program to continue to receive funding.
The Senate also voted to delay a vote for funding those students participating in the Outreach program but not receiving credit. The Senate chose to delay this vote because a list of the students’ names was not readily available.
Senator Mirmelli stated that “the Student Activity Fee is for non-academics,” and that to make one exception would set a precedent the Senate is hesitant to establish.
