How is your financial aid now and are you worried about future cuts?
Name: Kelley Wallace
Year: Senior
Major: History
Answer: Most of my ability to go to USM is based on financial aid. If it weren’t for financial aid I wouldn’t be able to go here. It’s the same situation that my sister is in. She’s applying for next year and she’ll have to take out a lot more loans if financial aid gets cut.
Name: Kevin Lyons

Answer: Yeah, I guess I’m kind of worried because I’m from Mass. and it might affect me more. I had a hard enough time getting it this year.
Name: Gary Banker
Year: Sophomore
Major: Human Biology
Answer: I work 40 hours a week and my financial aid is low enough as it is and if they cut it I guess that will give more people across the country more of an excuse not to work.
Name: Rachael Greaton
Year: Sophomore
Major: Engineering
Answer: I have good financial aid right now. I’m obviously worried about the cuts. I think it’s not going to affect us as much as we think because the school never gives away all its academic scholarships in the first place, and if students know more about where to find money, it won’t be a problem.
Name: Charles Isaya

Answer: I’m very worried. I had a difficult time getting approved when I applied because of the different issues involved.
