The Maine Songwriter’s Association hosts an open mic night at Acoustic Coffee, 32 Danforth St. in Portland. In Luther Bonney Auditorium, Portland campus, starting at 8:30 a.m., anthropology Prof. Darren Ranco of Dartmouth College will present “In Light of Reverence,” a film about the struggles of Native Americans to protect their sacred rights. When the film ends at approx. 10 a.m., Prof. Ranco will deliver a lecture titled “Power and Identity in a State Sanctioned Science: Environmental Racism and the Logic of Genocide.” FMI call 780-4006.

The USM Dept. of Theater and School of Music present “Company,” a musical comedy about love and commitment. The show will run until March 21 in Russell Hall, Gorham campus.
