Holiday celebrations, free stuff
The Portland and Gorham campuses are both holding holiday-related celebrations this week.
On Dec. 10 in the Woodbury Campus Center in Portland from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be free food for the first 200 students who arrive and a jazz concert provided by the Portland Events Board. On Dec. 11 in Gorham, the celebration will be a special dinner, payable with normal meal points from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Brooks Student Center Dining Hall. The Gorham Events Board will also be holding their “Stress Buster Night” from 8 to 11 p.m. on the lower level of the Brooks Student Center with free food, massages and acupuncturists, as well as an oxygen bar and other attractions.

Statewide sex-offender registry now online
Anyone can now access Maine’s mandatory sex-offender registry online at http://www4.informe.org/sor/. Portland and many other Maine cities have always provided online sex offender registries, but the list now includes offenders who have committed their crime anywhere in the state. The FBI maintains a list of such online sex-offender registries at http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cid/cac/states.htm.
