Women’s Cross Country
Nov. 1 vs. New England Alliance cross-country championships.
The Huskies finished second overall in what Coach George Towle called his team’s “strongest performance of the season.” Five Husky women were named to the All-Alliance team: First-year Andrea Newton (sixth place, Berlin, NH); Senior Lauren Lohmeyer, (eighth place, Portland, ME); sophomore Andrea York (15th place, South Friendship, ME); first-year Steph Westcott (16th place, Chester, VT); Senior Jessie Cotton (18th place, South Portland, ME). Keene State won the meet with 33 points, while USM took second with 60.
Men’s Cross Country
Nov. 1 vs. New England Alliance cross-country championships
Huskies finished third overall. Michael Bunker (Bucksport, ME) was the team’s top finisher in 12th place.

* The University of Southern Maine is hosting the NCAA New England Regional Championships at Twins Brooks Recreation Center in Cumberland, Maine. The women’s race features four of the nations top five teams, including the two best (Middlebury and Amherst), competing for a chance to race at the NCAA championship meet. The men’s race should also be competitive with three of the nation’s top twenty-five teams taking the line in Cumberland. The race site is located on Tuttle Rd. two miles east of Cumberland center.
