Convocation’s keynote speech this week
The keynote speaker of this year’s convocation, author Bill McKibbon arrives on campus this week. He will speak at 2:45 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 in the Luther Bonney Auditorium in Portland. His appearance is free and open to the public. Those who plan to attend are asked to call 228-8367 for reservations.

Violent sex offender sighted in Portland area
Dwight Raymond Lindblom is wanted by the Portland Police for violating a restraining order issued in Lisbon, Maine. USM Police fliers state that he has “a violent sexual history.” He is 5’9″ tall, weighs 145 pounds, and is 52 years old. He has brown eyes and a shaved head. He is a registered sex offender in the state of Oregon. He has been arrested for sexual assault, criminal sexual conduct, burglary, assault, and stalking, among other charges. Anyone who sees Lindblom on or off campus is urged to report him immediately via 911.
