Jessica M. Manzo
Age: 19
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Millinocket, Maine
What brought you to the area – what do you think of it ?
The city of Portland. Coming from a small town I wanted to live close to a city for a change. I think the area is exciting because there is always something to do or see.
Why did you choose USM ?
Originally I came because of the school of music. I wanted to attend a school that had a lot of culture. I love being able to go to Corthell Hall and play the grand piano anytime I want to !
What would you do to make life better for the USM student?
I would make the “snack shack” 24 hours.
College: Educational enrichment or four year party ?
College is a balance: Get your work done and you can have all the fun you want without wasting time or money.
What is the most significant thing you have learned here ?
To be yourself.
What do you do when you are not at USM?
When I’m not a USM I am visiting my uncles or my aunt in Portland, home in Millinocket, or on the road with friends.
How does your educational direction compare with you childhood aspirations?
I have always had many interests and have never been able to decide on one direction. As a child I always aspired to do well, so when I choose my major (which needs to happen rather soon) I want to be sure it will be the best choice I can make.
If you could say one sentence to George W., What would it be ?
That is a very loaded question and I would need sometime to think about it.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
When “your” and “you’re” are used incorrectly.
To where would you like to travel and why ?
I would like to travel to Italy to learn more about my family’s heritage and to ride on a gondala.
What was your worst dating experience ?
I’ve never had a bad dating experience. People come into your life for awhile and when they leave you take a little bit from them all these experiences add up to make you who you are.
