Matthew J. O’Brien, age 20 of Gorham was arrested obstructing a public way after blocking an emergency vehicle near Philippi Hall.

Michael Hamilton, age 19 was arrested near Wood Hall for failure to comply with a request from USM Police to disperse. Hamilton and O’Brien were both taken to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office jail.

Criminal mischief and attempted theft: Vandals damaged a 2003 Dodge truck parked overnight near Russell Hall after trying to steal an emblem attached to the grille.

Andrew Smith, age 19 of Dickey Hall, was arrested for criminal trespassing at Aramark Dining Services, having refused to leave after being asked. He was also charged with possession of liquor by a minor. On Oct. 20 he was charged with theft of services and possession of liquor by a minor after running away from a taxi without paying. A court date has been set for January 5, 2004.

William T. McKinnon, age 23 of Anderson Hall, was issued a summons to court for assault and criminal mischief. A court date has been set for January 5, 2004.

Paul A. St.Pierre, age 41 of Portland, was issued a summons to court by the USM Police for criminal trespassing after being discovered inside the secure parking garage construction site.

There was a burglary of a motor vehicle in lot GS-1 on the Gorham campus. A stereo and some CD’s were stolen.
