The Husky Hall of Fame will induct seven new members during the Hall of Fame banquet, which will take place during the Husky Homecoming Weekend (September 19-21) on the evening of Sept. 20.
The seven former Huskies being enshrined are: Joleen Gardner Auger, Class of 1988, a former Player of the Year and USM’s all-time leading hitter in softball; Jim Broughton, Class of 1992, a two-time All-American and a member of USM’s first NCAA Division III national championship baseball team; Dave Flacco, Class of 1995, a two-time All-ECAC in hockey; Tiffany Dickinson Fregeau, Class of 1993, a two-time regional All-American forward in field hockey; Bill Hartley, Class of 1988, an All-Little East Conference in men’s basketball; Kyle Hutchins, Class of 1983; an All-New England player and a member of the men’s soccer team that reached the NAIA Final Four in 1979; and Lori Towle, Class of 1996, a two-time All-Little East Conference player in women’s basketball.
There will also be three other notable awards presented during the Hall of Fame banquet. The Richard A. “Doc” Costello Special Achievement Award will be presented to former women’s basketball and field hockey athlete Kathy (D’Amboise) Jenkins for her outstanding service in officiating. The Costello Award is bestowed upon those graduates of USM that set themselves apart in their commitment to student-athletes and athletics.
The David F. Drew III Service Award for outstanding volunteer service to the athletic department will be presented to Mike Doucette of Westbrook. Doucette served as the volunteer project coordinator for the USM baseball stadium project at Towers Field.
The Clifford O.T. Weiden Award is presented annually to individuals or businesses from the community that contribute special talents and time to USM. This year’s recipient is R.J. Grondin & Sons and J & S Construction for their work on the USM baseball stadium project.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and will be followed by the induction ceremonies at 7:15 p.m.
