Graduating double major Daryl Morazzini is the student commencement speaker. He is receiving his degrees in philosophy and history and will be studying law at Yale next year. The Free Press caught up to the student Senator during the last Student Senate meeting in Gorham. Morazzini a visible student leader who has accomplished much in his time at USM. In addition to his senate position, he served as chair of the Board of Student Organizations . Morazzini chose to compete for the student speaker position, in which candidates submitted prepared speeches anonymously. He described unenviable childhood circumstances.
“No one ever believed in me, no one ever gave me the chance to succeed,” he said. His speech focuses on achievement and goal setting. “It imparts the students to always strive higher” he said. “It’s a message that demands them to always want more.”
