National Cover the Uninsured Week
USM will be participating in a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about people who are uninsured. “Cover the Uninsured Week” was organized by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation and will take place March 10 -16. There will be a panel discussion on March 11 in the Woodbury Campus Center Ampitheater at 12:30 p.m. The campaign hopes to rally support for over 41 million Americans, and 130,000 Mainers who lack health insurance.
Surrenden Street road block limits traffic
On Thursday, March 6, Surrenden Street, the street that allows access to the Bedford Street parking area, will be blocked due to construction. Drivers will be allowed access to the Bedford Street parking lot, but access to Chamberlin Street will be restricted. The roadblock is designed to shield Washburn, Deering and Chamberlain Street neighborhoods from excessive parking garage traffic.
