Jan. 17 Loud music complaint in Portland Hall. Issue was resolved.
Jan. 17 The elevator door in Dickey Hall appeared to have been kicked off its track. “These types of careless vandalism create a risk to the community by creating a safety hazard,” said Det. Sgt. Saindon.
Jan. 18 A car window was smashed by vandals in Gorham, causing $300 in damage.
Jan. 18 A winter coat was stolen in the Sullivan Gym.
Jan. 19 A threatening phone call was reported at Portland Hall.
Jan. 19 A rear car window was smashed by vandals throwing chunks of ice in Gorham. Damage to vehicles has been an ongoing problem this year. Several vehicles have been keyed or had windows or mirrors broken. These incidents happen late at night. The USM Police Department asks community members to report suspicious behavior to police. If students see people loitering around vehicles and parking lots, they are encouraged to call the police.
Jan. 19. A rear car window was smashed in Gorham. Police say they believe someone knows who is responsible for the vandalism but may be afraid to call police.
