Open House for Prospective Students
USM Undergraduate Office of Admission is holding an Open House for prospective students on Oct. 27 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This open house will introduce Usm and campus life to prospective students and their families. The event is free and open to the public, however reservations are requested. Registration will take place at the Costello Sports complex in Gorham on the day of the event. The Great Debate
Maine Senate District 27 candidates are set to debate from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Luther Bonney Auditorium in Portland on Oct. 15. District 27 includes Falmouth, Long Island, and parts of Portland. Michael Brennan ( D – Portland), Flower Noble (Green – Portland), and Sally Vamvakias (R – Falmouth) will discuss local issue at this debate, which is free and open to the public. U.S. Senate candidates Susan Collins ( R ) and Chellie Pingree (D) will debate at the Portland High School Auditorium, 284 Cumberland Ave, Portland from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct., 19. This is a televised debate, sponsored by the Muskie School, Maine Public Broadcasting, and the Margaret Chase Smith Center at UMaine Orono. Maine Gubernatorial candidates John Baldacci (D), Jonathan Carter (Green), Peter Cianchette (R ) and John Michael (I) will debate at the College Center, University College in Bangor from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a televised debate, sponsored by the Muskie School, Maine Public Broadcasting, and the Margaret Chase Smith Center at UMaine Orono. The debate is free, and tickets are available through Eva McLaughlin at 581-1646.
