An athletic director reported seeing a vehicle driving on the Gorham campus soccer field about 9:30 p.m. A USM police officer responded, but the vehicle was not found.

An underage Portland Hall resident was found with alcohol about 12:30 a.m. The female, who resided in the Yankee Clipper wing, was referred to the Office of Community Standards, USM’s student judicial board. According to police, such offenses can also go before public law enforcement agencies and the resident could be expelled.

A female resident of Upton Hall in Gorham received a harassing call from an unidentified male about 4:10 p.m. The call did not specifically target the third floor resident, according to Det. Sgt. Ron Saindon of the USM Police Department.

Residents of Dickey Hall’s 7th floor reported smelling marijuana about 11:30 p.m. Police officers responded, but could not locate the source of the odor.
Saturday, Sept. 8
Two unidentified residents of Philippi Hall on the Gorham campus were referred to the Office of Community Standards for alcohol violations. Police officers discovered the students about 10:45 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 9
Police officers found a water bong in the room of a Portland Hall resident about 5 p.m. The male resident of the Yankee Clipper wing was referred to the Office of Community Standards.
Tuesday, Sept. 11
A sapling was found ripped from its roots about 11:30 a.m. near the hedges on College Street in Gorham. The vandal was not found, but Facilities Management replanted the $100 tree. The department is not sure whether the tree will survive.
