Seventy-eight miles away in Daytona Beach, college students were sunning and sinning by the dozen, but in Melbourne, Fla., the word of the day was “service.” A group of 20 USM community members led by Andrea Thompson McCall, the associate director for Student Activities and Community Service and Student Coordinator Eric C. Smith spent spring break building and rehabilitating homes with Habitat for Humanity.
McCall and Smith hope that this program is only the first of its kind and look forward to introducing others in the future.
