Sports for the layperson
What’s the big deal with the Super Bowl?
The Super Bowl is contested each year at the end of National Football League season to determine the league’s champion. This year marks the 38th playing of the Super Bowl. The game pits the champion of the AFC against the champion of the NFC at a neural warm weather or domed stadium. To be honest, the Super Bowl is probably slightly overrated, but just slightly. The game is infested with commercials, and unnecessary militaristic displays of patriotism, but it remains a celebration of football, chicken wing eating and beer consumption. It’s a national holiday that centers around watching a football game, so my complaints are few.
