LOST AND FOUND
A briefcase disappeared from a professor’s Masterton Hall office on March 5.
Forty-five minutes later, a USM police officer found the case with all of its contents, including a cell phone, in a men’s rest room. Police believe it was stolen.
“Everything was recovered, which usually indicates somebody was looking for cash,” said USM Police Detective Ron Saindon.
LOST AND FOUND AGAIN
A student reported the theft of a couch from his dorm room March 1.
Shortly after reporting it, he found it in the hallway around a corner, the result of a prank by his friends.
JUST LOST
On March 12, a student walked uninvited into three different dorm rooms in Dickey Hall, but did not steal anything. Detective Saindon said he does have a suspect and is close to closing the case. He did not know whether the rooms were occupied at the time.
NO NOTICE
Someone ripped the community bulletin board off the wall of Anderson Hall’s third floor and left it on the floor March 4. USM Police have opened a criminal mischief investigation into the case.
HARASSMENT
A female student reported being bothered by a male student in Gorham on Feb. 28. Detective Saindon said it was a one-time occurrence that was “not physical or sexual.” He declined to give further information.
