Men’s Cross Country
The USM men’s cross country team came in ninth overall at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday while compiling a total score of 239 points. Junior Erich Neuts (Portland) and junior Ben Manning (Jericho, VT) led the Huskies with times of 25:54 and 25:56 respectively to come in 43rd and 44th out of 271 runners. All five of the scoring Huskies finished in the top 25% of the runners, closing out a solid day for the very talented men’s cross country team.
Women’s Soccer
The UMass Boston women’s soccer team found the net four times Saturday, coming out on top of USM 4-1 at the Clark Athletic Center Field on the campus of UMass Boston in Dorchester. The lone USM goal from sophomore forward Cathy Wise (Cape Elizabeth, ME) was the first of the game and her third of the season. The Beacons got two goals each from junior forward Kristin Mulry and freshman forward Tayla Andrews to secure their fourth victory of the season while the Huskies dropped to 2-5 overall. USM hosts Salem State at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Men’s Soccer
Junior LT Sierra (Leeds, ME) netted his first goal of the season, leading the Huskies to a 2-1 win over UMass Boston in a Little East Conference matchup at the USM Soccer Field in Gorham on Saturday. The win is the first of the season for the Huskies. Pete McHugh (Scarborough) was able to find the net in the first half for his first goal of the season as well. USM will be on the road for their next match on Thursday at Thomas College at 4 p.m.
