What is an RBI?

The term RBI stands for runs batted In. This is a key statistic in baseball. A player is awarded an RBI if he drives in a run – meaning that a player scores as result of his hit. If a batter gets a base hit with runners on second and third base and both those run score, he is awared two RBIs.
