USM will host a lecture on the memory of the Holocaust in America by Bowdoin College adjunct professor of art history Natasha Goldman. The event will be held April 7 at 4:30 p.m. in room 213 the Abromson Center in Portland.
According to a press release, the lecture, “Weaving Time: The Past and Present of Holocaust Memory in the United States,” will look at changing attitudes about the Holocaust since 1945 and the reflection of those attitudes in museums and memorials. Goldman will examine specific works of art from Holocaust museums and memorials.
The USM American and New England Studies Program is hosting the event. It is free and open to the public.
