A man collapsed while helping his stepdaughter move into Robie Andrews Hall a little before noon on Move In Day last Saturday in Gorham. He died soon after at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
According to his obituary in the Portland Press Herald on Tuesday, Michael J. Morrow, 49 of Saco, was an avid sports enthusiast who coached and volunteered for Saco Little League, youth football and youth basketball.
USM spokesman Bob Caswell said someone called 911 last Saturday to report a man had collapsed and was having difficulty breathing. Gorham Police and USM Police responded and USM Police Lt. Ronald Saindon administered CPR to Morrow and stabilized him. Gorham FD arrived with EMTs at about 11:50 a.m. Caswell said, and Morrow was rushed to Maine Medical Center.
Caswell said President Selma Botman has reached out to Morrow’s family to express her condolences.
