There’s nothing like a subtle compliment to boost the spirits of your Valentine.
Do-It-Yourself projects meet the cheesy world of Valentine’s phrases in just a few simple steps.
Hot sauce
1. Cover the label of a bottle of hot sauce.
2. On a new label write a phrase that includes the temperature of your Valentine. May we recommend “YOU’RE HOT.” Elaborate if necessary.
Rubix Cube
1. Find a rubix cube at any general store or toy shop.
2. Write a loving message on one or more faces of the cube before mixing up the puzzle. “You put my heart in a jumble” would be effective here.
Think Science Fair
1. Build him an eruptible volcano with tagline, “You are explosive.”
2. Build her a bottle-rocket with the capacity to take off. “You’ve taken off with my heart” might be appropriate.
3. It’s easy to find a recipe for play dough or polymer-based science projects online. The goop could be accompanied by “I’m like putty in your hands,” or “You’re so nice to play with.”
Planted sprout
1. Fill a cup with soil and plant a seed.
2. Attach a small card to a stick and insert into the soil.
3. On the card, catch-phrases should follow along theses lines: “I’ve bean thinking about you,” or “You’re growing on me.”
4. Hand Valentine your little sprout while simultaneously reciting your thought-out catch phrase. If there doesn’t appear to be growth by this time, assure your Valentine that something will sprout with a little love. And wink for good measure.

According to one Roman myth, Cupid, the son of Venus, caused roses to grow thorns when he accidentally shot his arrows into a rose garden. Instead of sending a dozen, make a pact to plant a rose garden in the spring.
Food is the only direct way to the heart. Heart shaped breakfast can do no wrong. Eggs, pancakes, toast, english muffins, sausage patties, oatmeal, and omelettes can all be cut or molded into hearts, add a level of precision by buying a heart-shaped cookie cutter for pancakes and eggs, etc. (Juice may be somewhat complicated.)
