Women’s Track
The USM women’s track team had a successful trip to Florida with both Kristen Sinclair and Kim Brewer meeting provisional qualifying standards for nationals in separate meets. SinClair (Manchester, Maine/Maranacook HS)team set a school record in the javelin throw while competing at the Spring Fling Invitational. Sinclair, who led a one-two USM sweep of the event with her throw of 140-8 (42.88 meters) smashed her former school record (130-7) by more than 10 feet.
Brewer (Bristol, Vt./Mount Abraham Union HS) provisionally qualified for the championships in the heptathlon with her school record performance (4,342 points) earlier in the week at the Florida Relays.
