I sat down for drinks with Red Sox president Larry Lucchino this past weekend. We met at the Eastland Hotel’s Top of the East Bar, and got pretty heavy into bourbon. Lucchino, a long-time friend and business associate, was in town to seek my advice on who should become the next manager of the Boston Red Sox.

Phil Collins: an overlooked classic
In the past few years, popular music has produced a new wave of stars like the White Stripes, Interpol, and the Strokes who have revived the early raw sounds of rock bands who hit the scene twenty, thirty, even forty years before them. Another area to look at is the salaried staff paid for by the activity fee.
