Caydince Bumpus, Community Editor
When I was asked to apply for the community editor position at The Free Press I was a little nervous to say yes. I’ve never been that strong of a writer, let alone telling other people how to improve on their writing skills. I was in my own head about whether or not I would be good enough for this position. However, now that I have had the time to think about what I plan on doing for the community section in this paper, I am confident that I can live up to the job.
Going forward in this new position I plan on attempting to secure voices from the USM community into the paper. I want to bring your opinions and your concerns into the husky atmosphere. My goal for this semester is to bring awareness to the environment around us and make it so that everyone can feel as if they are supported if they choose to use the resources that are available to them within my section. Good luck on your new academic journey!
