When Presidents Come to Town

Historian Doug Hodgkin will explore the visits of presidents and presidential candidates  to Lewiston and Auburn. Hodgkin will start with Garfield and go right through Trump although the latter was a visit to Lisbon. He will examine how these visits illustrate how changes in campaigning, in technology and in how election laws affect presidential travel and bring presidential hopefuls to appear in relatively small cities.
