A closer look at the Pioneer Program

USM became the first school in the state this semester to start an honors program focusing on the STEM fields. The Pioneer Program offers a scholarship package to outstanding Maine high school graduates who are pursuing a career in a STEM field and who exhibit leadership skills.

Learning commons coming to Portland and Gorham libraries

USM President Selma Botman has formed a task force to examine ways to stimulate a more vibrant community on the Gorham campus. The task force met for the first time Friday, with members brought ideas to the table and started to create a strategic plan.
