We’ve received largely negative comments online for the recent column by Elijah Miller, “Ladies you’re either with me or UGG-ainst me.” I’m glad critics have visited our website and Facebook page to point out where they feel, strongly in many instances, that we screwed up. It’s also worth pointing out that this reaction has not been universal; some readers appreciated Miller’s stab at satirizing male chauvinism. We appreciate readers using the comments section for all reactions, positive and negative, in response to what we publish.
President Botman accepts departmental reorganization plan

President Selma Botman accepted Provost John Wright’s recommendation for the reorganization of the departments at USM. Botman announced her decision in an email sent today. The recommendation called for voluntary consolidation of departments with fewer than 12 full-time equivalency faculty. FTE faculty is based on credit hours taught and can include part-time faculty to make the minimum.
