USM rolls out cuts, layoffs to balance budget

The Health Services module on USM's Portland Campus will be closed as of Sept. 1 as part of a restructuring of campus health care services. Students who need minor medical attention will have to take a bus to Gorham, or get first aid from USM police.

Six people will lose their jobs and another 15 will see reduced hours as the University seeks to trim $1 million.
